My love of Flywheel goes hand in hand with getting to legitimately dress in stylish athletic wear. I almost prefer shopping and splurging on these pieces now than other clothing. All of the top designers have jumped onboard and created lines, including Adidas by Stella McCartney, Rebecca Minkoff, Trina Turk, Rowley by Cynthia Rowley and Elie Tahari.
My signature look for spinning is a tank top with fun sayings. Many are from Flywheel, but I resist buying until they are marked down.
Most of my favs I’ve ordered online, including the MILF tank I designed myself and had executed by The Creative Compass on Etsy. “Spin Now Wine Later” is very appropriate for those times I hit Flywheel before brunch!
Thank goodness for Chanterelle sports bras which is the only brand that provides me with enough support. I wish I could wear some of the sexy sports bras with lots of skinny straps and often not much fabric, but that will never work with my voluptuous chest.
I ripped out Meg Lappe’s piece on “Fitness Boutiques” in the March issue of Self Magazine. (I have a subscription to this magazine because I participated in Self’s UpNOut Studio event last June at Spring Studio and plan to go again)
I couldn’t believe the unbelievable quality this American-made brand that gives back to charity it the first time I wore it and as a result, have made several more K-Deer purchases. I only own one pair of Lululemon pants which I bought after admiring a female in tip-top shape sauntering around in them at UpNOut.
I’ve been extremely satisfied with the GapFit pants I wear and the price can’t be beat when they’re running one of their constant sales. I do want to try Zella which Nordstrom carries.
This is a topic I am extremely passionate about and could go on and on and on. We’re all probably better off moving away from the computer or smart phone technology and go do something active!
What’s your favorite athletic brands and/or places to shop for them?
