Today’s guest post is by my friend Alexandra, a mom of three and occasional PR/marketing consultant and writer. Although currently residing in Connecticut, her home state, Ali travels abroad several months a year with her family:
With two boys at home already, finding out that my third child was going to be a girl sent me into a shopping frenzy! I admit I wanted to buy every feminine baby item I laid my eyes upon, but I attempted to reserve myself for when she arrived. However, the take-home outfit was a must.
Since I splurged a bit on the boys for their homecoming outfits, my little princess-to-be would not be left behind! Thankfully, one of my favorite baby outfitters, babycottons, has a location across from my doctors office!
Upon entering the store, you immediately feel excited about the little person that is soon to enter your life. The lighting is tranquil, the colors are soothing, and the staff is very helpful. After carefully looking through multitudes of pima cotton footies, I decided I had to have the Western Girl motif. Since we have a horse farm this should have been a no brainer.
Sadly, the magic fairy and ballerina styles would have to wait. If you have never been to this store, or have never felt the amazing cotton blend that their clothing offers, I can only describe it as heavenly. Is it softer than your newborns skin? No, but it is definitely worthy of it.
Finally the day came to adorn our little lady in her first feel of non-hospital grade clothing. The look I saw on her face was the same look I imagine mine to have when I put on a new cashmere sweater, pure indulgence and comfort.
So will my little fashionista be a connoisseur of all things elegant and refined? The future will tell us. But thanks to her Mommies love of babycottons, she sure will have the tools to discern the difference.
