I can’t say it enough how much I covet limited edition items. Obviously I am not the only one as pop-up stores are popping up all the time these days.
This morning after I sent the kids to school, I jumped onto he subway downtown to the Coach Store in Soho for the 8-10AM press preview party of the CoachxColette. The cult Parisian brand Colette has taking over the brand’s space at 143 Prince Street for a weeklong pop-up that will carry the eight-piece collection — as well as special items selected by Colette director Sarah Andelman, like a dinosaur lamp and fun, gender-neutral temporary tattoos.
I am not a dinosaur lover but it was hard not to fall in love with the cutesy mascots Rexy the T. Rex, Steggy the Stegosaurus, Tricky the Triceratops, and Woolly the Woolly Mammoth.
I really wish it wasn’t a school day. I can’t think of any other time when its possible to bring your kids shopping in Soho. From ball pits to color the walls, this Coach store has been transformed for youngsters.
But don’t worry, there’s still plenty of higher end items including leather dinosaur keychain and coin purses, bomber jackets and clothing with adorable patches and cell phone cases.
Not a single detail was overlooked at the press breakfast which included dinosaur shaped food to dino balloons being made and temporary tattoos from the collection being applied.
