I was invited by Ian’s preschool teacher to come into the class during Chanukah and lead them in an activity about the holiday our family celebrates.
I consulted pinterest and other mom blogs to come up with ideas.
I presented Ian’s teacher with 2 ideas, along with reading a children’s book about Chanukah. Instead of doing this messy, menorah handprint project
Ian’s teacher chose making dreidel paper dolls.
The class will be singing a dreidel song that week and it will be a good association for them. This project promotes eye-hand coordination and fine motor skills. There’s drawing and glueing. also a great way to work on body parts (eye, nose, ears, hair, etc) or shapes and colors with little ones. You can get really creative with it and use a variety of different materials including googley eyes, pasta, yarn, feathers, stickers, different types of papers, crayons, markers, paint, glitter…the possibilities are endless.
Looking forward to doing this fun Chanukah activity with Ian’s class next week! Will update post with some of our finished masterpieces next week!
