Last night on a Mom 2 Mom Facebook Group I am part of, I was moved by a post from a mom who posted about her five year old cutting her hair for charity and the photos of this adorable, beautiful and giving little girl. (I wonder if she wants to be fixed up with my 5 year old son!!!).
I do NOT personally this caring family but asked her if she would contribute a guest post which she was happy to do:
This is my 5 year old daughter Emily. She has a huge heart of gold.
Yesterday she decided to get her hair cut & donated 9 inches to Pantene Beautiful Lengths. I kept asking her if she wanted to do something special with her hair and maybe donate it and give to kids or women that maybe were sick and needed hair. She was so excited to help someone out. We went yesterday, put her hair in a ponytail, and off it came.
The smile on her face was priceless. I being her mom was overcome with joy knowing that my little girl was doing something so very special. I encourage all moms to do this with their little girls.
Sop now to my own darling daughter Greenlee, we will continue to grow your hair with trims to keep it healthy and in a few years when its long enough, we will make a date at the salon to both chop off our long locks into a stylish bob to donate to women who are sick. And then we’ll grew our hair back again! Deal!
