It’s insane to think that in a few months I will be celebrating my third anniversary of doing Flywheel. I was the girl who hadn’t worked out in over 20 years. A friend insisted we try spinning, she was a no-show at class while very quickly Flywheel became a way of life for me. Its my 45 minutes “ME” time where I get lost in the music (my fab instructors have playlists that rock) and it makes me feel good about myself and my body. Thanks to my flywheel work-outs, I can indulge in foods without them remaining on my hips.
In May, when Flywheel announced the consumer release of an at-home bike and streaming content platform will be débuting soon, I ran a blog post about it.
Well TODAY is that day! Woo hoo!
I was reading all the specifics as I was waiting out in the cold for the 67th Street crosstown bus to get to the Lincoln Square Studio. (On Wednesdays, none of my preferred instructors teach on the Eastside at a convenient time so I literally spend more time getting to Flywheel than the class is. Talk about dedication.) Shivering in the cold, Flywheel Anywhere seemed like a win/win no-brainer. I really don’t want to travel to spin in cold, wet or inclement weather nor do I want to miss the class.
I’m somewhat torn over buying the at home bike. I really, really want it and my husband is even in support of the purchase. I have spent over $8,370 attending classes at Flywheel. So the bike will definitely be worth the investment as it will then only cost $39 a month to stream unlimited classes. As the tagline states, I can “Fly Anytime.” No longer would I have to wake up extra early and cram in a class before my busy day of scheduled activities. My only hesitation is that Flywheel as truly become a sense of community for me. My instructors are legitimately my real friends. I even picked out a holiday gift for one in O’s holiday gift guide. (Jen P, please do not read that post!)
Hmmm, what a minute….Victor Self just posted on Facebook that he’ll be teaching live and on demand classes! I’ve only had the pleasure of taking his class once when he was in NYC. So to be able to ride with this West Coast Master on a regular basis is music to my ears!
I am curious if the bikes will disturb apartment neighbors below. In addition, I do need to figure out a space for it in our apartment which already isn’t large enough for all of my family’s stuff.
I still have 30 rides to use before I can even seriously consider purchasing the bike. (Unless I can credit them towards the bike! Can I do that, Flywheel? Please, pretty please!)
Another suggestion I have is that home bike owners get invitations or special passes to attend some in-studio classes so we can still check-in with instructors, the friendly front desk workers and the other people who have become part of our lives as a result of Flying together in-studio.
So what do you think Flywheel? Grant me those two requests and I will click “buy” for my bike right now.
As an added bonus, flywheel will be offering a limited amount of complimentary pro packs which includes:
· FLY Fierce Indoor Cycling Shoe
· Camelbak + Flywheel Podium Chill Water Bottle
· High-performance Bluetooth wireless headphones
· Flywheel Bike Mat
· Flywheel Heart Rate Monitor
Between Fly Anywhere, Seamless, Amazon and online shopping, I will seriously never have to step foot out of my apartment.
