In Greenlee’s first two weeks of life, she has already had 3 professional photo shoots!
I love photography and capturing every moment possible of my family life. I always wanted newborn photos of Ian but my husband wasn’t a fan. I regretted never having them done and told Scott if we ever had a girl, we were definitely doing them. (After all, we wouldn’t be having a bris)
My sister recommended a close friend/former coworker’s friend and I reached out to her months ago and set it up for after Greenlee was born.
I gave birth at Columbia Presbyterian which did not offer professional photos of any sort when Ian was born in October 2009. However, someone from Gaga Photos stopped by my room hours after I gave birth and let us know about their services. The best part is that there was no sitting fee and no minimum order necessary. Given this, I jumped at the opportunity, even though I already had another newborn/sibling/photoshoot scheduled for when we got home.
I wanted the spotlight to be on my new bundle of joy and wasn’t planning on getting in any photos since I wasn’t feeling pretty nor had my hair been blown-out. But Deb, the photographer, encouraged me and promised not to focus on me. I got out of my hospital gown, applied some make-up and pulled my hair back. I am so happy Deb talked me into it.
Deb came prepared lots of props including a wicker basket, blocks to spell out her name (there was even enough “e”s!) and utilized my baby blanket.
The photo shoot was so much fun, I felt so much better after I made myself presentable and it was one of the first mother/daughter bonding experiences for me and my princess.
Our photos are posted in a password-protected, online gallery which we are able to share with loved ones. The turnaround time was remarkable. The shoot was done on Wednesday and I received the link that weekend which happened to be Memorial Day Weekend. All photos in the gallery can be downloaded for a reasonable price and then you have full access and own the rights to print out as many photos as you want.
Everyone, including us, are going Gaga over the photos!
