The birth of a baby is such a momentous occasion. It’s about new life, fresh starts, dreams, happiness and the future. It puts everyone in a good mood. People love buying gifts for new bundles of joy. With both our children, we received packages, big and small, from close friends and family to co-workers, neighbors and sometimes surprises from random acquaintances.
These are some of my favorites:
Anything Personalized, especially practical items
Adding the baby’s name, date of birth, measurements or other stats, makes the ordinary extraordinary. My daughter, Greenlee, will never be able to buy items at the store with her name on it. (I experienced the same thing) We were so excited to receive a gingham hooded towel with Greenlee’s name embroidered on it. I foresee lots of bubble baths in her future.
It’s never too early to start their love of books and learning. My little fashionista-in-training’s new library picks include:
When Royals Wore Ruffles: A Funny and Fashionable Alphabet! by Chesley McLaren
Beach Babies Wear Shades (An Urban Babies Wear Black Book) by Michelle Sinclair Colma…
Ralph Lauren Polo
This is my family’s favorite brand. Apparently all my friends and family have received the memo. I have been inundated with tons of gorgeous RL polo clothing fit for our princess. Now she can match her Daddy and Big Brother in their stylish polos.
Baby’s First Designer Jeans
A total splurge, but a gift after all, should be something the recipient is coveting but probably wouldn’t buy for herself. Thanks Aunt Carrie, Uncle Evan and cousins Alexa and Jacob for my first pair of sevens for mankind jeans. So excited to be able to match Mommy, Daddy and Big Brother Ian!
Little/Big Sibling Gear
I am obsessed with this sweet Little Sister bucket hat I received in a package filled with clothes, bibs and other fun goodies. It’s going to be perfect for our trips to the beach. Now I just need to get Ian a Big Brother baseball cap!
It’s a gift for both mommy and baby. I now have a fun bracelet for summer while Greenlee will enjoy teething on it as her chompers come in.
Another piece of jewelry Greenlee and Mommy have their eye on! (Hint, hint, if anyone is figuring out what to get the Princess)
I couldn’t resist and I had to order this “High Maintenance” rhinestone onesie with tutu on the tushie as a gift to my lil JAP.
And Ian has cleaned up with Melissa & Doug toys as gifts for being the new big brother!
Gotta go unwrap more gifts and write out thank you notes!
