There’s not too many things cuter or more irresistible than mini gourmet ice cream cones. Especially when you are devouring them in the swanky and sophisticated Two E lounge at The Pierre, a Raj Hotel, surrounded by family and close friends.
My family has been trying to do this all month and needed to back-out last minute for one reason or another. So when Greenlee was still sick with a fever, there was no way I was canceling for the third (possibly even fourth) time in a row. It was extremely disappointing that Scott had to stay home and take care of Greenlee, but our close friend Ginger and her son eagerly took their place.
If I could only eat one thing for the rest of my life, without a doubt in my mind, I would select ice cream. Many times while I am eating dinner, I am thinking about grabbing a spoon to put into a pint of Ben & Jerry’s or Talenti. Its nearly impossible for me to pass a Mr. Softer without getting a cone with sprinkles. While pregnant, I often had Scott make runs to McDonald’s for soft serve cones.
The Summer Ice Cream Flight at Two E Lounge at The Pierre, A Taj Hotel is the brainchild of Pierre Chefs Ashfer Biju and Michael Mignano. The Pop Up Ice Cream Flight is served only in Summer 2015. So hurry and make your reservation because the last day will be Labor Day, Sept 7th and trust me, you do not want to miss this deliciousness.
The cost is just $12 per flight and goes fabulous with a glass of bubbly or a coffee etc.
Its served daily from 3pm until close (live jazz with Claire Khodara takes place at Two E each Tuesday so you could have ice cream with your jazz….just sayin’)
4 miniature sized cones comprising four sumptuous flavors:
- Wild Blueberry Verbena
- White Peach Raspberry
- Alphonso Mango. (my fav of the 4)
- White Chocolate Strawberry (the other 2 ladies fav & my son’s)
….. All served with a 70% Dark Chocolate Pistachio Parfait Pop & 2 Mini Macaroons. These are all amazing and I’m usually not a macaroon lover.
The cheese, kettle chips and olives that accompanied our drinks were the perfect addition to having ice cream for dinner. I can’t think of nothing more appropriate to eat on a 90+ degree summer Monday in NYC.
From where I was sitting, I was able to admire the fireplace which was lit with candles, as well as the bar. The three adults all discussed what a spectacular date spot this place is.
And Scott, honey, let’s pick a night to come back just the two of us!
