It’s hard to decide what I enjoyed most — the blue skies without a cloud in sight, the ocean which was tepid both in current and temperature, the all-you-can drink mudslides, Dark & Stormies and other libations which went down way to easy,
For Ian, it most certainly was the slides. He seriously had us going down them at least 50 times in a row.
Greenlee was all about the water. Anytime we passed a pool she was scream, “More, more, more, that, that, that.” She constantly reminds us what a mermaid she is!
When Scott was becoming agreeable to a vacation with a four hour direct flight, I did my research for a destination that would be extremely family-friendly (translation: make the kids very happy.) When we narrowed it down to Jamaica, the Hilton Rose Hall was continually listed among the top for being kid-friendly. After we booked the trip here through Expedia, we discovered that our in-laws, as well as many friends have vacationed here.
Since before we left, many people have been requesting my honest recommendation for this property upon our return. Here’s the thing, it’s a wonderful family getaway. Not to sounds snobby, but our family prefers the more boutique, micro-resorts which is why we usually stay at a Relais & Chateau Properties. Over looking the food (it’s quantity over quality at all-inclusive and unfortunately it’s no different here) and the shower which desperately needs to be renovated, the grounds are lovely.
Other pros that I didn’t mention above is that the gym had bikes for spinning and even offered a daily class. at 12:30pm which did not work with my family’s schedule.
A free shuttle bus was available to the nearby shopping pavilion. Ian and I did do that one afternoon while Daddy and Greens frolicked in the pool and beach.
There is a Kids Club but its for ages 4-12 and since Greenlee wasn’t eligible, we kept both kids with us the entire trip.
There were complimentary Peter Thomas Roth products in the hotel room and Greenlee was able to get her hair braided right on the beach!
The Hilton Rose Hall does get extra credit points for having photographers on staff to take pictures!
In typical Lainie fashion, I am already brainstorming where to go next February. We’re tossing around Dorado in Puerto Rico or the newly renovated Ritz in Grand Cayman, but are always open to suggestions!
