It’s funny how FLY has become my favorite word since joining the spinning movement at Flywheel. So when the opportunity presented itself to me to try a mobile spray tan service, I was even more excited because its name is FlySprayTan. *(Turns out, fly is the owners’ fab word too!)
I have never experienced getting a spray tan before. I choice now because I am attending a wedding in Long Island this Sunday night. I am extremely looking forward to getting all dressed up and having a fun night out with my husband while the kids stay home with a sitter.
Little did I know when I booked it that my kids and I would be sick and stuck in our apartment all month so a glowing tan would do wonders for my pale, Casper body.
I like that the company is run by two sisters Jen and Liz who incorporated approximately one year ago. Jen’s background is in the beauty industry and Liz works in fashion. Not only did my sister and I choice to share a bedroom growing up, but we lived together as roommates until I get married. Randi also followed in my footsteps pursuing a career in PR. I invited her to do this with me, but unfortunately she got stuck at Hearst working late.
Truthfully, I was a bit nervous not knowing what to expect. Jen texted me approximately 45 minutes in advance letting me know she was on her way. I had no idea how much equipment she would be schlepping with her, where in my apartment she would be performing the procedure, etc. She showed up at my door with a big smile, healthy, glowing skin, a cool vibe and barely any baggage.
I immediately felt at ease. She questioned where she could do it. I asked her what would be best and she pointed right in front of her if that worked for us. Of course it did.
My husband was concerned about the mess the procedure would make in our apartment and she explained that everything would be kept contained in her black tent. Ian thought the tent was such fun and I kept having to shoo him out of it. He enjoyed being Jen’s assistant, holding the hose. I am waiting for him to say when he grows up he wants to be a spray tanner.
A “fly” Spray tan will deliver a light weight, sun kissed glow that looks so natural you won’t have to spill your secret and an even fade. It usually lasts approximately 7 days. Fly solution is Paraben and Chemical Free, and contains all natural DHA.
Jen quickly felt like a friend I’ve known a while and I wasn’t the least bit uncomfortable stripping down to my thong for her.
We talked about everything under the sun as she sprayed me. The whole treatment took less than eight minutes.
After she left, I looked in the mirror and I loved the face that was shining back at me. It looks like I’ll be adding this beauty service to my regular schedule! And next time you are joining me, Randi, for sure!
