So believe it or not, it’s only the second Monday of the New Year but the year is already in full force. The good news we have a three-day weekend coming up as next Monday, January 20th is Martin Luther King Junior Day. If you are looking for something to do:
With a wild mix of music, comedy and visual theater, Still Awake Still! is a fabulously entertaining cabaret for kids making its U.S. premiere at The New Victory Theater for a limited engagement from January 18-20, 2014. Based on the much-loved songs from the children’s bedtime book I’m Still Awake, Still! by author Elizabeth Honey and composer Sue Johnson, Still Awake Still! was commissioned by the Sydney Opera House and premiered at the Arts Centre Melbourne. It’s created for kids ages 4-7 years old.
Getting kids to sleep can be a challenging daily ritual, but not for Miss Ivory Tinklefinger! With nothing but a great, grand piano and her sweet singing voice, the famous Queen of Sleep can calm the rowdiest of children. But one day – much to her dismay and to the audience’s delight – her piano produces more than just notes! Brought to life by Carolyn Connors as Miss Ivory Tinklefinger, Renato Vacirca as Gypsy Boy, Dan Witton as Bass Boy and a recorded voiceover by Philip Norman, Still Awake Still! is directed by Wilson, who also wrote the work in collaboration with Jim Lasko and with input from the entire creative team.
Did You Know?
Some people dream only in black and white while about 70% of people dream in colors.
Humans spend a third of their life sleeping—25 years or more!
Still Awake Still! has a running time of 45 minutes with no intermission. Seats in the Balcony start at $14.
Looking ahead on the calendar This (Baby) Life is something I’m going to want to do with Greenlee who will be 9 months in February and Baby Rave will be fun for both my kids to enjoy together right before Greenlee turns one in May.
