While the idea of staying in an igloo such as Hotel Kakslauttanen sounds adventurous, sexy, and super cool (actually down right teeth-chattering freezing) who am I kidding? I prefer steamy, sun-kissed vacations filled with daiquiris, bathing suits and sand between my toes. Now the Sheraton Hacienda del Mar Golf & Spa Resort, located located six miles from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, is offering families the best of both worlds with special-themed Ice Age 4 Kids’ Stay rooms.
Designed in partnership with Fox Entertainment, the rooms are part of a new “Family Package with Ice Age 4” available now through December 20, 2012 which includes fun extras from the resort and a special Fox Entertainment gift. Youngsters and kids-at-heart (like me) will have the ultimate slumber party in a Fox-designed Kids’ Room where Manny, Diego, Sid, and all the other colorful cast members are virtual roommates in full eye-popping presence.
My sister and I had a fantastic vacation when we stayed at this hotel over winter break several years ago. I must admit that we were pleasantly surprised at how high-end and luxurious the reasonably priced Sheraton actually was.
I can vouch first-hand that the Sheraton Hacienda del Mar Golf & Spa caters to every family member’s whims and needs. Situated on 28 acres overlooking the Sea of Cortez, the sprawling, Hacienda-inspired resort is home to five restaurants and five bars, four infinity and cascading swimming pools, the acclaimed Cactus Spa and Fitness Center (part of the Starwood Spa Collection) and a broad selection of outdoor activities, including the beautiful beach of Los Cabos.
Rates start as low as $199 USD per night (excluding taxes) with a two night minimum.
Now I just have to work on my husband to take us South of the Border. Ole!
