I can’t believe I am writing a second post about Desiree’s season of The Bachelorette.
I wish I could say I care about Des or her heart being broken. I have zero interest in her, Chris (sorry to my married friend who finds him so attractive and totally her type) and Brooks. But I do have plenty to say about the last few episodes of this season.
My burning desire is to find out what team Drew really plays on and if Reality Steve has gotten the ending wrong. Does anyone else find it particularly odd that we are going into Part 2 of the finale with a threesome.
Most viewers are pitying Des for having her heart broken but she is essentially doing the same thing to Chris and Drew. She never even gave any of the other suitors a fair chance because she fell as head of heels for Brooks as she did for Hollywood.
I suspect the audience wants a fairy tale Hollywood ending. I do not want to see any of the remaining three get down on one knee and propose with a Neil Lane diamond ring. And if they do, Des certainly should not get the sparkler sized because unlike Cinderella, none of these men are her true Prince Charming or who she is meant to get old with. She seems to have gotten over Sean quite easily and I am confident she will again. I am pleased that her break up scenes with Brooks felt so real and I would love to see much more of that on reality tv. Brooks seems to be one confused guy and needs to grow up and act like a man. Des is exemplifying that “we always want what we can’t have” and that it’s all about the chase.
I want to stress that my favorite part of watching the show has become the social media component to it. Not only do I have a few Facebook “threads” but I switch back & forth to my twitter feed. I respond to others tweets and get excited when someone comments on one of mine, retweets it or marks it as a favorite. Strangers from as far away as Canada have turned into friends of mine based on our mutual passion for the show. For me, it’s much more about tweets than roses. We should all remember that “every rose has its thorns.”
Although speaking of roses, I feel gipped out of a rose ceremony at the conclusion of Part I of the finale.
What do you think will happen on the season finale? Do you want Des & Brooks to get engaged?
