I pride myself with keeping up on the “mom industry” and everything pertaining to kids and family. Never did I expect to discover something I’ve been missing out on for Moms in Elle Magazine.
In the June issue (with gorgeous Angelina Jolie on the cover), I enjoyed the profile piece, “Mum’s the Word” on Rachel Blumenthal, founder of Cricket’s Circle, a website for hip parents.
The sleek advice site for new parents launched in January includes a baby-registry checklist and articles such as “Four Things You Need to Know About Gliders.”Mom to three-year old Griffin and married to War by Parker’s co-founder, Rachel is a former fashion-PR exec who also started a jewelry line.
In the About section, it states:
“We’re moms, not experts. Our picks reflect the favorite products of us and our network of smart parents — which now includes you! Cricket’s Circle believes in moms, not metrics. The bestseller isn’t always the best. We’re pleased to say that we’re absolutely independent…”
Who is Cricket?
“We think of Cricket as that friend who always has the answer. Maybe you already have a Cricket in your life — someone who knows exactly the right date spot for a rainy Tuesday or the TV show you seriously have to be watching. Here, Cricket represents a team of parents and editors and a tool that selects top products based on your lifestyle criteria. She demystifies the baby registry process, suggests great ideas and shares only the info that’s helpful and relevant. We wish we had a Cricket for every part of our life.”
Cricket’s Circle’s Facebook page is such fun. I love the sketches, images and tidbits of useful information. The blog has the look and feel of how I would have my own blog if I had financial backing behind it.
Are you part of Cricket’s inner circle?
